On June 16th 2001, I decided that I wanted to get away from home and see London. This was my first solo trip ever, and first sports-unrelated trip in seven years. Looking back, I could have planned it better, seen more, stayed longer. But perhaps that's what this trip was about: a learning experience for future trips to come.
What follows is a largely unedited account of the planning two days before, and the typed version of my on-location handwritten diary, as well as a short look back written almost a month later.
